Pilates Performance & Rehab has a diverse staff representing Balance Body, Fletcher, PHI, CenterWorks & Polestar who are professionally trained to help clients achieve proper form & techniques while utilizing Pilates Equipment and performing mat exercises.

Pilates Performance and Rehab's Polestar trained practitioners also educate each client on Pilates principles and exercises while assessing each individual's movement patterns and needs.

Desima Dawdy, A.A., B.S., A.C.E. completed her four year Pilates course-work, observation, apprenticeship and certification process in Chicago, Denver, Miami and Kansas City from Polestar Education.

Desima was comprehensively trained and certified by Polestar as a Pilates Practitioner and has also served as a mentor and teaching assistant for both Polestar Education's Allegro Reformer and Comprehensive Studio/Rehab Hybrid Series.

Polestar Pilates is an international community of research-oriented movement science professionals, transferring advanced knowledge to our clients to improve health and well-being, through the application of Pilates and various methodologies of movement science. Polestar Education was founded in Sacramento California in 1992 by Brent Anderson PhD, PT, OCS, and Feldenkrais Practitioner Elizabeth Larkam MA. Polestar Education is affiliated with Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and is recognized as the leader in providing rehab inspired Pilates and neuromuscular re-education with a vision of impacting the world with intelligent movement.

Desima is also a licensed provider of Ron Fletcher Towelwork®, Floorwork®, Barrework™, and Fletcher Shoulder Stabilization Programming. She feels honored, blessed and grateful to have had the opportunity to study under the tutelage of Pilates Elder/Master Teacher Ron Fletcher and Fletcher Pilates Director Kyria Sabin.

Desima has had the opportunity to receive training from master trainers Dr. Brent Anderson, Elizabeth Larkham, Dav Cohen MSPT, Gerard Hinderlich, Sheri Betz PT, Laurie Tushman, Dr. Noelle Dowma, Dr. Tamara Neff, Dr. Suzanne Martin, Tracey Weibel, Allison Cabot PT, Dawn-Marie Ickes MPT, Gabrielle Shier MPT, and U.S. Olympic Women's Swim Team Trainer Tom McCook, as well as Balanced Body Educator Sara Felt. Desima has also had the honor of attending classes and/or workshops with Pilates Elders Lolita San Miguel, Mary Bowen, Ron Fletcher, and Kathleen Stanford Grant who were trained directly by and studied with Joseph and/or Clara Pilates.

Desima specializes in functional fitness programming and neuromuscular re-education to facilitate good alignment, posture, balance and pain-free movement. Clients with myofascial pain, scoliosis, osteoporosis, single and double knee replacements, cervical, hip back and shoulder dysfunction who are wanting to prepare, avoid or delay surgical intervention are often referred to her by their healthcare providers. She also has experience training professional and student dancers and athletes to enhance athletic performance and injury prevention.

Desima has also served as a mentor/assistant for Body Mind Spirit Expo and is a member and volunteer for the Pilates Method Alliance. In addition to Pilates, Desima teaches Align & Stretch Rx, Balanced Body Foam Roller, and has received certification and/or training through YogaFit, SAFAX Yoga, Cycle Reebok, Nautilus Headquarters, Reebok University, Fitball, American Council on Exercise (ACE), SCW Aqua, and the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1983 she has taught a wide variety of health, college physical education classes, and wellness programs including her Alma Mater, Washburn University. Desima was also named as a top three nominee in the nation for Entrepreneur of the Year by Club Industry Magazine.

Joni Wells

Joni Wells, lead trainer and Studio Manager at the Barrington Village Topeka location, received her Pilates training through Polestar Pilates Education. The Polestar curriculum, designed by physical therapist and Orthopedic Certified Specialist Dr. Brent Anderson, is based on a scientific foundation of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and motor control. It integrates scientific research findings in the areas of orthopedics, sports medicine and movement science. Joni is also an instructor for TRX and TRX Sports Medicine Suspension training. Joni is an avid runner with an extensive background in fitness and sports performance with over 20 years of teaching experience. She is married, lives in the Topeka area and is a mother of 2 daughters who both share her passion for Sports Medicine. Her oldest is a Washburn graduate with a degree in Kinesiology/exercise physiology and will be getting married in July 2017. Her younger daughter is at Kansas State University where she is studying Apparel Marketing and is a KSU Cheerleader.

Joni started Pilates rehabilitation after a leg injury in 1999 where she was able to fully understand the multiple imbalances that can come with sports training and the overuse and abuse theory that causes problems for many athletes. She began her Pilates certification course work in 2000 and was able to study and attend workshops with Master Polestar Educators Dr. Brent Anderson, Dav Cohen, Director of Polestar Australia, Gerard Hinderlich, Tracey Weibel and Osteoporosis and Bone Health Expert and Director of Polestar Education Sheri Betz. Joni has also had exclusive training with Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Specialist Dr. Tamara Depew Neff and Polestar Mentor and Pilates Performance & Rehab Practitioner and Owner, Desima Dawdy.

Joni began her fitness career in 1988 at Absolute Fitness for Women, and transitioned to their Pilates Studio at Pilates Performance & Rehab. Joni has continued her education and medical experience at Stormont Vail Health Care as a Medical Assistant and Patient Care Technician. Joni will be scheduling private lessons and small group personal training at the Topeka Studio, as well as specialized injury prevention programming for gymnasts, softball, baseball, and volleyball players, cheerleaders and runners. Lorna Jarrett

Lorna Jarrett BS, AAS, LPTA, NSCA-CPT, PMA-CPI has a passion for teaching and motivating people to fulfill their purpose while living in their best bodies. Her philosophy is the Interconnection of total body movement with total body health to bring about alignment and vitality. This passion has led her down a path of fitness, wellness and physical therapy.

Lorna has developed several grant funded health and fitness programs for the Kansas and MO metropolitan areas. Her background as a nationally certified personal trainer NSCA (National Strengthening and Conditioning Association) and dancer gives her the opportunity to develop effective exercise programs for groups and individuals, from the equestrian to the geriatric population. She has instructed Fitness courses to NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) personal trainer candidates at Wellspring School of Allied Health in Lawrence Kansas. Lorna teaches group classes, privates and Pilates intensives at several major Schools of Ballet and the Performing Arts Centers in the Kansas City metro area.

Lorna is licensed by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts and practices as a PTA in short term rehabilitative and outpatient facilities. She utilizes standard physical therapy interventions to restore functional mobility, reduce pain, maximize function and reduce the chance of re-injury. She is a member of the Orthopaedics and the Performing Arts Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association, she is dedicated to evidence based practices.

Lorna is a PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) certified graduate of Polestar Pilates for Rehabilitation. Lorna continues her Polestar training to fulfill the extensive requirements that lead toward advanced instruction. The Polestar Pilates curriculum, is based on a scientific foundation of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and motor control, and integrates scientific research findings in the areas of orthopedics, sports medicine and movement science. Lorna is licensed to teach Fletcher Towelwork®, Fletcher Floorwork® and Fletcher Barrework™ and has completed continuing education courses in Pilates with Balanced Body University and APPI Pilates. Lorna is a student at A.T. Still University-College of Graduate Health Studies, completing her Masters in Kinesiology specializing in Orthopedic Rehabilitation.

Lorna specializes in Pilates programming for athletes, dancers, and the pre/post surgical client.

Amber Droge's passion for movement began at a young age. After several years in the dance field, including 3 years as a Zumba Fitness instructor for children and adults, she began taking Pilates as a way to find relief from her own back and knee injuries. Encouraged by her progress, Amber wanted to share Pilates with others. Her knowledge, coupled with her patience and dedication, makes her a highly sought after instructor. Amber is known for balancing her cheerful encouragement with butt-kicking workouts, all the while keeping it fun. She’s inspired by the changes she sees in front of her as she watches people of all ages and fitness levels build strength and make health a priority. Her specialties include preteen youth, equestrians, and dancers.

Cari Thomas is passionate about Pilates, ballet, and life. Cari believes to be a good teacher you must always be a student, continue learning and practicing.

Cari was comprehensively trained by Integrated Balance Pilates in 2008 and trained with Rael Isacowitz's BASI Pro-Bridge Program. She has also completed Pilates workshops with Master Educator Alan Herdman and Pilates Elder Lolita San Miguel. She brings specialized knowledge from training clients with brain trauma, cancer and neurological conditions.

Cari also has weight and wellness training including Yamuna Body Rolling, H.I.T.T, Booty Barre with Tracey Mallet, Body Pump, Indo-row and Fluid Movement (aquatic ballet and Pilates).

As a former ballet dancer Cari, has a great eye for movement. Cari has a niche for working with people who want a full body workout that is right for their body; to reduce stress, pain, tightness, etc. Focusing on clients working hard but never straining; leaving the studio better then when you came in.

Dr. Kelli Nelson

Dr. Kelli Nelson attended Rock Creek High School, Hutchinson Community College, and Kansas State University earning her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College, graduating Cum Laude.

While attending Cleveland, Dr. Nelson realized the importance of diagnosing the true root of the problems that cause musculoskeletal pain so her patients could both feel and STAY better. She attended numerous seminars that are geared towards this goal, including Active Release Technique®, Kinesio-Taping, Graston (Astym), Functional Dry Needling, and those offered by the Motion Palpation Institute.

In 2014, Dr. Kelli completed and passed the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician exam through the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians. Courses taken through this certification included but are not limited to: concussion management, emergency procedures, extremity adjusting and taping. She also recently has taken seminars and completed coursework/exams to become a certified Functional Dry needling practitioner.

In 2016, Dr Kelli was introduced to the benefits of the Pilates Method and Pilates apparatus. She began her rigorous formal Pilates education with Balanced Body Educator Sara Felt, Polestar Pilates Practitioner Desima Dawdy, and Polestar Pilates Educator Dr. Noelle Dowma. The Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Methodology and Education is affiliated with Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and is recognized as the leader in providing rehab inspired Pilates and neuromuscular re-education. Polestar's vision is to impact the world with intelligent movement. Dr. Kelli is excited to be able to integrate her Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner training into her clinical practice.

Dr. Kelli strives to bring a unique cutting-edge approach to patient care. She combines traditional treatments with advanced soft tissue therapies and stabilization rehab exercise, and Pilates rehabilitation. Dr. Kelli is the full body certified Active Release Techniques® provider in Topeka and Manhattan. She treats a broad range of conditions, ranging from back pain and shoulder pain to plantar fasciitis and migraine headaches.

Dr. Nelson works as a team with her patients, giving individualized treatment and rehab plans while educating them on the importance of active care.

Dr. Nelson played sports all throughout high school, and playing softball in college.

Alba Blocker

Alba Blocker began her fitness journey at the tender age of 11 as a client of Desima. Alba is now a certified Reflexologist and Pilates Instructor. She has a back ground in Social Work and is Bilingual in Spanish. She is passionate about natural healing and teaching others ways to improve their lives and health. Alba can help clients understand and address their foot health.

As a Pilates Instructor, she provides Pilates Mat classes with props focusing on breath work, body alignment, core strength, flexibility, coordination and balance as well as trains clients on Pilates Apparatus. Alba homeschools and is a Soccer Mom for her three boys, She enjoys coffee dates with her hubby, reading, and listening to 80's music.

Stacy Zeigler is an ACE certified Personal Trainer and has received her Pilates training through Balanced Body Education and Hardcore Barre.

She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in Community Health Education. She has 20 years of experience teaching a wide variety of fitness classes including sports conditioning, yoga, cycling and senior fitness with certifications in Silver Sneakers and the Arthritis Foundation. She is married, lives in the Topeka area, and is a mother of three young girls who are active in basketball and soccer.

Stacy began her fitness career in 1998 in Lincoln, Nebraska, working in corporate wellness and fitness and with Madonna's Rehabilitation Hospital and ProActive. She has worked for the YMCA in Indiana, Canada, and Kansas.

Stacy enjoys volunteering as a youth sports coach in the Upward program, mentoring teen mom through Young Lives, and running half marathons with Team in Training to raise awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Stacy enjoys working with all levels of fitness including youth and seniors.

Amy Jones

Amy Jones

Amy Jones was raised in Olathe, Kansas where she began dancing at the age of five at Somerset Ballet under Jane Pierce. Her training continued throughout high school with the Kansas City Ballet School and Legacy School of the Arts where she trained with Michele Hamlett-Weith. During her time at Legacy School of the Arts, Amy was a member of the senior company, performing many roles in various classical and original ballets. She continued to feed her love of ballet throughout college at The Culture House School of the Arts where she was blessed to learn from the dancers of Storling Dance Theatre. Amy moved to Manhattan, Kansas to pursue her degree at Kansas State University and was heavily involved with the dance program. There she had the privilege to perform and choreograph with the School of Dance many seasons during her studies. She is currently a faculty member with Kansas Ballet Academy.

Amy Jones love of ballet naturally introduced her to the ballerina's favorite workout- Pilates. The Pilates method had a great impact on her own health, and after years of practicing in studios, at home, and with friends, she decided to take the next step. Amy took her Pilates Teacher Training in 2015 through Pilates Academy International, under Courtney Collado. She is thrilled to be a part of the Pilates community in Topeka!

Lea Huntington, A.C.E., is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and a Clinical Exercise Specialist. Lea received her Pilates Reformer training from Power House Pilates and also studies with Tamara Depew, Polestar Certified Rehabilitation Practitioner. Lea's clientele includes athletes and pre- and post-rehabilitation patients, as well as people with limited mobility.

Taylor Rand

Taylor Rand

Taylor Rand is an undergraduate majoring in Kinesiology and pre-Physical Therapy at Kansas State University. She has an emphasis in physiology and is working in a cancer research lab with Dr. Bradley Benhke studying the effects of exercise on tumor growth. She has worked at the Kansas State Rec since 2015, and volunteers with the local Special Olympics.

After being diagnosed with scoliosis in 2011, Taylor developed an interest in Pilates. Being a track and cross-country athlete, she experienced hip and back pain that eventually brought her to Pilates Performance & Rehab. Through Pilates she was able to mitigate much of the pain scoliosis causes her. Spring of 2016 Taylor received her certificate in Mat 1 Pilates through Balanced Body. She has attended level 1-3 of Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Series training with Dr. Noelle Dowma and will be attending levels 4-6 spring/summer of 2017.

Post graduation, Taylor will pursue her doctorate in Physical Therapy. She will incorporate Pilates with her practice and hopes to work with amputees.

Megan Waltner, Certified Massage Therapist, received her Massage Therapy certificate from the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in Tempe after over 800 hours of training. She specializes in Trigger Point Therapy and Deep Tissue Massage. She is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. In 2014, Megan trained under Dr. Michael Uriarte in the MyoKinesthetic System.

To complement her massage practice, Megan completed Polestar Educations Comprehensive Studio/Rehab Hybrid series taught by Dr. Noelle Dowma. Polestar is the international leader in Pilates rehab-based education. She also has completed training in Fletcher® Pilates Towelwork®, Floorwork® and Barrework™.

Rita Rodgers-Stanley

Dr. Rita Rodgers-Stanley is a Board Certified Internist, born and raised in the Kansas City area. In the footsteps of her grandfather, Dr. Gordon A. Rodgers and father, Dr. Samuel U. Rodgers, she continues the family legacy of providing compassionate care to the community.

A graduate of St. Louis University Medical School, Dr. Stanley completed her residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Her practice experience over the past 30 years has been diverse, including Community Health Center, Correctional Medicine and private practice.

Dr. Stanley's practice is now focused on disease prevention and wellness, helping people lose weight and abnormal fat stores as well as balancing their hormone systems. She is committed to helping people live healthy, vigorous lives by following a sound, proven wellness strategy that includes functional medicine, whole food nutrition, patient education, and exercise.

Brooke Miller, BA, NASM CPT is a Topeka native and started her fitness career with a Bachelor’s degree from Washburn University’s Physical Education, Exercise Science and Health department. She is an. AFAA certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor for nearly ten years She is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and TRX Suspension Training. She currently teaches Senior Fitness, Kickboxing and other fusion classes in Topeka and Lawrence and is very excited to professionally pursue her new passion for Pilates (and alliteration!)

For the past seven years her main focus has been in non-profit management and is currently attending KU to earn the Certified Public Manager credential and was recently accepted into the Masters of Public Administration program. She also has a passion for and specialization in weight management, health education, workplace wellness planning and youth services. Her goal is to impact public health and the obesity epidemic through systemic, environmental and policy work.

In her spare time, Brooke enjoys “cooking” (eating), “traveling” (sleeping) and “kayaking” (telling jokes). She has one daughter and two hermit crabs.

Growing up in Topeka, Cathy's love for dance blossomed under the tutelage of Lisa Michaelis at the Dance Factory where she also taught and became the second owner and director. As a young adult, Cathy studied dance in Los Angeles and New York and attended numerous dance conventions. She continued her danced education at the University of Kansas where she received a degree in Human Biology with an emphasis in dance. She was a member of the University Dance Company as well as the Scott Morrow Touring Dance Company. Cathy's performance credits include "Rhymatix" a tap and hip-hop company based out of L.A., Will Roger's "Follies," and several commercials on the Fine Living Channel for HGTV. Currently, Cathy owns Point B Dance and is the artistic director of the Point B Dance Company who performs throughout the MidWest. Cathy is expanding her teaching repertoire from her 200-hour teaching training in Vinyasa Yoga from OmTree Shala. She feels her most appealing attribute is her passion and love for dance and yoga.

As a young musician and dancer, Master Trainer Sara Felt was originally introduced to the Pilates method to help her body keep up with the physical demands of an orchestral cellist. After Pilates helped her recover from an overuse injury, she became inspired to help others, and has been teaching since 2004. Sara initially completed her Pilates education through Centerworks® Pilates, and has received additional comprehensive training and continuing education through Balanced Body®, Fletcher® Pilates, Polestar, and many first-generation and master teachers. She has also received research grants and presented numerous lectures on injury prevention for musicians and dancers.

Sara served as lead instructor and studio manager of Pilates Performance & Rehab’s satellite facility for many years and has now transitioned to the role of owner and director of Aligned Pilates in Lawrence, KS. She is also on the faculty of Balanced Body Education. She teaches the Balanced Body Pilates and Barre instructor training programs, as well as specialty workshops, at her Lawrence studio and as a guest presenter across the country.

A dynamic, inspiring presenter, Sara aims to make Pilates accessible to all. Her diverse clientele includes athletes, dancers, fitness professionals, musicians, pre/post-rehab clients, and men & women of all ages and abilities.

Gerard Hinderlich

Gerard Hinderlich, BS, MS, ATC, has been an expert in sports medicine, Kinesiology, and Bio-Mechanics for over 20 years and is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer. His specialties are rehabilitation of injuries through manual therapy using Muscle Activation Techniques and the Pilates Method. Gerard is certified with Polestar Pilates and served as a Senior Educator for over a decade. He has also trained classically in the Pilates Method in Boulder, Colorado, as well as Body Arts and Science International (BASI) California. Gerard's experience in professional and college sports gives him a unique skill set to help all individuals pursue their sport and exercise goals. Gerard is also a CPR and MOTR educator. He teaches belief in affirmation and intention, positive action through positive thought and growth of an enthusiastic spirit to enjoy all life's lessons and blessings.

Noelle Dowma, DPT, received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Miami School of Medicine. She is PMA Pilates Certified™, and serves the Kansas City area as a Polestar Pilates Principal Educator. Noelle has a strong background in Performing Arts. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Ballet Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma, and has worked as a physical therapist for the Miami City Ballet, and many Broadway shows. Noelle is currently is on staff at the Kansas City Ballet School. The staff at Pilates Performance & Rehab is blessed to have Noelle as an educator and continuing education provider. Noelle also conducts Injury Prevention Workshops for Dancers and Performing Artist for all PPR's locations.

Tamara Depew, DPT, BA received her Bachelor of Arts from Washburn University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Tamara is a Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner and has been involved in Pilates since 2000. She is dedicated to the future of pilates and is a Polestar Pilates Mentor. Tamara has extensive experience working in physical therapy clinics and Pilates studios, where she utilizes her skills to educate and rehabilitate patients. Tamara has presented on fitness, Pilates and rehabilitation to the Kansas Occupational Therapy Association, Kansas Parks and Rec and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Tamara worked at John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and The Rehabilitation Institute in Kansas City where she obtained vast knowledge on neurological rehabilitation. She also has specialty experience in women's health, and pre-post natal Pilates.

Amber Groeling, RD, LD received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in dietetics; she completed her internship at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Amber’s areas of expertise include weight management, heart health, diabetes, and healthy cooking. She is certified in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management. She is a member of the Lifestyle Improvement Coalition, the American Dietetic Association, and is the marketing chair for the Kansas Dietetic Association. Amber enjoys spending her free time with her husband and daughter.

Kristy Shields is a certified and licensed Occupational Therapist. She has been practicing as an OT for the past 9 years in Acute Care, Home Health, Skilled Nursing and Outpatient Services. She is also a certified fitness professional in both AFAA and Yogafit. Since 2001, Kristy has taught at Bally Total Fitness instructing several popular classes. Kristy merged her passion for helping people, and her love of fitness, at the Polestar Rehab/Studio Pilates Education and Training Courses. Her journey has been incredible. Kristy was an apprentice instructor at the Pilates Performance & Rehab's Lawrence location, and has also recently opened her own private Pilates studio in South Johnson County. Aliesa George, PMA-CPT is the founder of Centerworks®. She is a healthy movement habits expert, author, Pilates teacher-trainer, mentor, and workshop presenter, focused on Pilates, foot fitness, and functional movement. Catie Koman recently moved to Topeka from California and has been teaching and training for over 20 years. Having received certifications and training through ACE personal training, AFAA Group Fitness, AFAA Aqua Fitness, Fitball, AFAA Mat Science1, Mad Dog Spin, Precision Cycle, AFAA Cycle, TRX, BOSU ball and more. She has a passion to help clients to achieve their goals and maintain a personal level of fitness to ensure they can live life to the fullest. She enjoys spending time with her husband and has a son currently stationed in California with the Navy and a daughter in college.

Catie has spent her fitness career working with all ages from youth to adult through group training and one on one personal training. She has enjoyed coaching and training several middle school and high school sports teams as well as club volleyball teams. As a fitness enthusiast and having worked with specialty clients for sports specific training and injury prevention as well as pre and post natal clientele you can be assured she will bring you the appropriate training to help you reach your fitness goals. Catie is looking forward to teaching mat Pilates and TRX classes at Pilates Performance & Rehab Topeka location as well as continuing her education to include reformer training and Barre training. Beatrice Sawyer

Beatrice Sawyer is a certified and experienced PHI Pilates Instructor who teaches both private and small group mat and apparatus classes. Beatrice is also a comprehensibly trained Polestar Studio Practitioner. Bea has a strong family heritage in equestrian training for hunters/jumpers and riders, and has blended her knowledge and experience to specialize in Pilates for equestrians.

Megan Casey

Megan Casey is a 2008 graduate of Washburn University with a BA in psychology.  Currently, Megan is pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine at the University of North Texas.  Megan has been actively involved with pilates since 2002; she hopes to continue participating in Pilates while in Texas.

For more than four years, Tracey Weibel, MS, LAT, ATC, Polestar Certified Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner and Educator, led the rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and emergency care for Celine Dion and her cast of 50 dancers in Las Vegas, making sure the entire cast was on stage performing at their best. Tracey expertise is in educating both dancers and athletes about anatomy, physiology, the mechanisms of injury, biomechanics, and injury prevention.

"Tracey has been a tremendous help to me," said Celine Dion. "In addition to working with me on training and conditioning, she's always there in times of need to monitor my physical condition, administer first aid, and to make sure that I'm in the right shape to perform at my peak."

Tracey currently lives in Louisiana where she is both a new Pilates Studio owner, and mom she has passed her passion for the Pilates Method to her Kansas family and friends at Pilates Performance & Rehab.

Recognized as a Master Pilates Teacher and Disseminator, Kyria Sabin initiated her studies with Ron Fletcher in 1991 and founded Body Works Pilates Sudios in Tucson, Arizona in 1993. In 1999 she initiated the first state-licensed Pilates teacher-training program in Arizona, the pre-cursor to the Fletcher Program of Study. She is founder and Director of Fletcher Pilates®, Inc and The Fletcher Program of Study, an international Pilates school representing one of the most rigorous programs of its kind in existence. A graduate of Duke University, a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher and a Licensed Massage Therapist, Kyria developed the Pilates Program at the University of Arizona School of Dance where she serves as Adjunct Faculty. She is an international presenter and has served on the boards for the Pilates Method Alliance, the UA Dance Advisory Board, the Haven Center for Women and the Foundation for Expanding Horizons.

The staff at Pilates Performance & Rehab is very grateful to have Kyria as an Educator and Continuing Education provider of the Ron Fletcher Method, and also for bringing the brilliant Fletcher Percussive Breath™, Fletcher Fundamentals™, Fletcher Towelwork®, Fletcher Floorwork®, and Fletcher Barrework™ licensing courses to Kansas.

Courtney Collado

Courtney Collado is a professional dancer and Master Pilates Instructor from New York City. She is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - Certified Personal Trainer, and is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Courtney has been practicing Pilates since 1990, and practiced under Pilates Elder Kathy Grant in New York City before earning certification from STOTT Pilates and Pilates Academy International - for whom she is a Master Trainer. She holds numerous other fitness certifications, including the Pink Ribbon Program (Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist), CARDIOLATES Rebounding technique, ActivCore/Redcord suspension training, Les Mills BODYPUMP, and will earn certification through YogaFit in May of 2014.

Courtney is the owner of FitReality LLC, a fitness organization specializing in fitness instruction, education, and certification, and also owns HARDCORE Barre, for which she travels nationally to train new instructors. Ms. Collado has worked as the Fitness Coordinator at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, and also teaches ballet and modern dance as Guest Faculty at Kansas Ballet Academy, performs as a Guest Artist with Kansas Ballet in Topeka, and trains in aerial acrobatics at Voler Aerial Academy in Kansas City, KS.

Stephanie Heston

Stephanie Heston is the co-owner/director of Kansas Ballet Academy in Topeka, Kansas. Ms. Heston is originally from Topeka, Kansas and enjoyed a 15 year career as a professional ballerina. She made her professional debut with the Eglevsky Ballet of New York in 1995 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 1998. Ms. Heston then joined Ballet Internationale of Indianapolis where she had the honor of working with world renowned ballerinas, Irina Kolpokova and Tatiana Pali. She has also worked with Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah and as a Principal Dancer with Dance Alive National Ballet in Florida.

Ms. Heston has performed principal and soloist roles in numerous classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote and Les Sylphides, as well as in works by renowned contemporary choreographers. She has been a principal guest artist with several companies and has toured extensively throughout the United States as well as internationally.

As a teacher at the Academy of Ballet Internationale, Ms. Heston was privileged to learn from and work under the directorship of Vladelin Semenov, former Principal Teacher for the Kirov Ballet. Throughout the years she has taught classical ballet to all levels and all ages at various schools around the country and enjoys choreographing original works for students. She has staged ballets such as Paquita and Sleeping Beauty and has coached numerous dancers in variations and pas de deuxs from the classical repertory.

As Artistic Director of North Ballet Academy and Youth Company in Rogers, MN she developed a comprehensive 10 year ballet syllabus loosely based on the Vaganova Method and created a full length original production of The Nutcracker that was well received by critics and audiences alike.

Ms. Heston was also privileged to work as Company Instructor for the 2011-12 season at Continental Ballet in the Twin Cities.
